Walter “Larry” Gregory, 77, of Sandy Creek, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 17, 2025, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of CNY.
Born on July 12, 1947, Walter was the son of the late Reuben and Oleta (Trumble) Gregory. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1969 and continued his service in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1991. He was employed by Clinton’s Ditch for 41 years as a line filler operator. On October 6, 2002, he married Pamela Maitland, with whom he shared many cherished years.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela; his children, Michael Gregory and Cheryl Killam; and his stepchildren, Scott Endsley and Melissa (Chuck) LeRoy. He was a proud grandfather to Alicia (Erik) Schilling, Bailey, and Charles Colton Killam; and a step-grandfather to Carson. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Ella, Declan, Nolan, Serene, and Dax. Walter is also survived by his siblings, Robert Trumble, Connie Oberton, Lois Mosher, and James Gregory.
He was predeceased by his children, Jonathan Gregory and James Tryon, as well as his siblings, Don Gregory, Thelma Moot, Lou Gregory, Beverly Mosher, Pat Branham, and June Russell.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Lacona VFW from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Walter will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his deep love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
