Therese Walsh Obituary

Therese Walsh passed away on October 20, 2024. She was born in Syracuse on October 23, 1957. She graduated from Onondaga Community College and Binghamton University and lived in New York City and Stamford, Connecticut, before settling in Sandy Creek. A bright light was extinguished too soon. Therese was big-hearted and brilliant. She had an unparalleled sense of humor. She could have been a comedy writer but chose instead nonprofit work, alternately in PR and publishing, where of course she made coworkers lives better through laughter. Therese loved animals; she was an accomplished equestrian, and she ultimately established a dog-training and boarding business. (Because dogs are hilarious.) Her dog narratives were filled with droll observations about a day in the life at Shivery Creek Canine. Her own dogs were highly decorated in agility. She earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification to train service/therapy companions, and helped others do the same. Therese was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Neff, Jr. in 2022. She will be sorely missed by her stepchildren Brandy and Ben Norris, her sister Rosemary (Zenon) Dacko, her brothers Kevin, Steve, Chris (Kathy) and Lawrence (Jan) Walsh, many nieces and nephews, and a legion of friends, among them her bestie Jason Moyer and childhood friend of over 60 years Vicky Lane. Left to cherish her memory are her cat Vi, border collie Huck, and blue heeler Skitters, who joined her family by her side to guide her out of this world. A celebration of Therese's life will take place on Saturday, November 16, at 3 p.m. at 3M's Sand Bar & Restaurant, Pulaski, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oswego County SPCA.
