Thelma H Snyder passed away March 11, 2023 Born September 11, 1931, Orwell, NY. She was a homeowner in Pulaski before moving to Fulton, NY in 1992 to be nearer to her two daughters.
Thelma was a 1949 graduate of Sandy Creek Central School. A 1992 graduate of Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY earning an AS degree at age 61. She worked at Sandy Creek Central School as a bus driver, and cafeteria cashier, retiring in '89. She worked for Oswego County Opportunities as Health Promotion Specialist
1993-2001. She also served as Oswego County Long Term Care Ombudsman
Coordinator 2001- 2010.
She was a member of Park Methodist Church, Pulaski where she enjoyed volunteering at Camp Aldersgate as camp counselor. She was very patriotic: having a daughter (Danielle) in the Air Force; her son (Scott), a grandson (Theo) and a brother-in-law all former Marines, brother David retired Green Beret. She loved animals, especially horses.
Thelma was predeceased by her brother David and son Scott M. Snyder. Scott passed away in Oct 2008 at 37 years of age after a two year long battle with colon cancer. Surviving are two daughters: Michelle (Arthur) Halstead of Phoenix, NY, Danielle (Bob) Whelsky of Colorado - five grandchildren Theo (Christine) Halstead of NY, Victor Halstead of NC, Julie (Shawn) Seale of Fulton, twins Amber (Lucas) of New Mexico and Ashley Whelsky of NY, seven great grandchildren Andrew and Kayla Halstead, of CA, Sara, Alina, and Morrigan Halstead of NC, Devon and Emily Seale of Fulton, great great grandson Ryder Halstead - a sister Joan Gum, one brother Carl Ehresman of WA state.
There will be direct cremation with no services. An open invitation to a celebration of life at Half-Shire Historical at 1100 County Route 48, Richland NY on Tuesday March 14th at 2pm.
