Stephen E Wood

Stephen E Wood, 62 of Lacona passed away unexpectedly at his home Monday February 26, 2024.

Calling Hours will be Saturday March 2, 2024 from 12-2pm at Summerville Funeral Home with the Funeral Service at 2pm.

Stephen was born March 12, 1961 in Saratoga, NY to James and Pauline (Gillis) Wood. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1980. Stephen was a mechanic and had worked for several auto shops in the area including Bardy’s, Joyner’s, Salmon River Auto and most recently Bob Johnson Chevrolet. He was a past member of the Lacona Fire Dept. and enjoyed racing cars at Oswego and vintage snowmobiles.

Surviving is his companion Sally Weaver, 2 sons; Stephen (Heather) Wood, Millerton, NY and Tyler Wood, a granddaughter Abigail, siblings; Michael Wood (JoAnn) , Ann McGuinness (Terry) , Mona Weaver and Randy Weaver who he considered family, and several nieces and nephews. A brother Daniel Wood predeceased him.
