Sharon M Johnston

Sharon Marie Johnston, 79, of Mannsville, NY, passed away on Wednesday January 5, 2022 with her beloved husband of 60 years by her side.  

She was born on June 23, 1942 at her family home in Lacona, NY, daughter of Wesley and Agnes (Ridgeway) Tyfair.   She graduated from Sandy Creek Central School and married Albert Ernest Johnston on January 21, 1961. 

Through the years she worked at a sewing factory in Adams, NY, waitressed at River Valley Inn and Sealys restaurants, and worked as a secretary for a law firm. While attending college at JCC in Watertown, NY she worked as an EMT for Mannsville Rescue Squad. In addition she was a lifetime member and past president of Lacona VFW post #8534. 

Sharon was a talented seamstress who put love and devotion into every stitch. She was known for her green thumb and love of gardening.   She cherished her time spent with family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her bright smile and loving heart will forever be a part of us.

She is survived by her devoted husband Albert E. Johnston and loving children, Todd (Mayra) Johnston, Janine (Danny JR) Capucilli, and Brian (Holly) Johnston, her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a brother Robert Tyfair and sister Janiece (Dennis)Dunbar along with nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Wesley Tyfair, brother, Craig Tyfair, and sister, Sheila Tousley. 

A private burial will be planned.
