Sandra E Henderson

Sandra E Henderson, 78 of Sandy Creek passed away Tuesday June 18, 2024 at University Hospital in Syracuse. Calling Hours will be Friday June 21st from 4-7pm at Summerville Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday 1pm at the funeral home with the burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek. Sandra was born January 24, 1946 in Penn Yan, NY to Howard G. and Kathleen (Eaves) Walton, Sr. She attended Penn Yan Academy. On September 19, 1970 she married Robert Henderson at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Penn Yan. Sandra had worked many years as a sales associate at The Bobbie Lu Dress Shop in Penn yan and after moving to Sandy Pond she worked at DJ’s Restaurant. Sandra was a member of Zion Episcopal Church in Pierrepont Manor and later at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Adams. She was a member of the Grange and the Sandy Creek Fair Association. Sandra loved to read, especially romance novels, garden and spend time with her grand dog Ivy. Surviving is her daughter Nancy Henderson, a sister Barbara (Shawn) Hartson, two brothers Darwin (MaryAnn) Walton and Howard Walton. Her late brother was William Walton (wife Mary) and Marlene Bogart (husband Grover). Donations may be made in her honor to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 40 East Church St, Adams, NY 13605
