Ruth Scammon Sargent, 93, of Newton Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025 at The Manor at Seneca Hill, Oswego, NY.
She was born July 7, 1932 in Boston to John and Margaret Scammon. Ruth received an undergraduate degree from Bates College in 1954, and held a Master of Arts degree in Audiology and Hearing Sciences from CU Boulder. She worked for 16 years as an audiologist and speech therapist in Colorado.
She enjoyed traveling, sewing, cooking and spending time with her friends, and her family. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth.
She is survived by her brother James, her children David, John, and Andrew, and her grandchildren Janell, Kaylie, and Micah.
Ruth will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for her family. Her warmth and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew her - a beloved soul who touched many lives.
