Russell L Shaffer

Russell L Shaffer, 76 of Sandy Creek and formerly of Jamesville, NY passed away peacefully Friday December 29, 2023 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse with his daughter Amy & his siblings by his side.

Russell was born September 14, 1947 in Syracuse, NY to Leon and Eva (Torak) Shaffer. He was a graduate of Jamesville Dewitt High School. He served in the United States Navy (Seabee) and served in Vietnam. Russell retired as a School Bus Mechanic for the Syracuse City School District. Russell enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and NASCAR. He especially loved spending time with his family and his Pup.

Surviving is his daughters Amy (A.J.) Green and her children James and Parker (whom he resided with), Tammy (Paul) Hughes and Karena (Aaron) Davenport, several grandchildren, his sister Jo Ann (Greg) Verone, brother David (Helen) Shaffer, nieces and nephews Sarah, Jessica, Matt and Adam and a great nephew Lucas. He was predeceased by his parents Leon and Eva.

Calling Hours will be Friday January 5th from 3-5pm at the Summerville Funeral Home with a Memorial Service immediately following.
