Robert L Tyfair

Robert (Bob) L. Tyfair Sr, resident of the Boylston / Sandy Creek area passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, while enroute to Samaritan Medical Center. Robert, affectionately known as Bob, Dad, Pop, Papa and Grandpa was born and raised in Boylston, was a graduate of Sandy Creek Central School and with the exception of a few years in Texas, and South Carolina remained in the area he loved. Bob was a carpenter by trade and worked throughout his lifetime within the industry both commercial and residential alike and although he was an exceptional Finish Carpenter, his true passions were the great outdoors (especially hunting) and Sports. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and camp whenever he could with family and friends. He also had a deep love for sports with his favorite being baseball. Bob played softball for many, many years and coached little league in the area. He was a big fan of the Dodgers beginning when they were still in Brooklyn and his football team was the Dallas Cowboys, he especially enjoyed watching games with family who were fans of other teams. He passed along his skills and passion for the outdoors and sports to his children and grandchildren embarking on many adventures throughout the years. Bob is predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Wesley Tyfair, Brother, Craig Tyfair, and Sisters, Sheila Towsley and Sharon Johnston and his loving wife, Margie Tyfair. He is survived by his sister Janice Dunbar of Sandy Creek, Children, September Denny (Mark) of Mexico, Rene Amen of Texas, Melissa Howlett (Cliff) of Sandy Creek, Robert L. Tyfair Jr. (Susana) of New Mexico, Michael Howlett (Ginger) of Sandy Creek, Andrew Howlett (Dena) of Rome, and Albert (Tre) Howlett of Syracuse, Several Grand & Great Grandchildren who were all very special to him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 4-7pm with a brief service immediately following at Summerville Funeral Home, 1997 Harwood Dr, Sandy Creek, NY 13145. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, and a graveside service at a time yet to determined also in March 2024.
