Richard Dean Wallace, 85 of Adams, NY passed away Monday May 13, 2024 at Samaritan Medical Center.
Dean, as he preferred to be called, was born September 10, 1938 in Knox, Indiana. After graduating High School in 1956 he joined the United States Navy and served for 10 years. He was Honorably Discharged in 1967. While serving in the Navy he married the love of his life, Sylvia. Toward the end of his Navy career he learned the truths of God’s word the Bible from Jehovah’s Witnesses. This forever changed his life. As a minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses he shared the truths he had learned with everyone he could. Sharing Bible truths was his passion. He was also a great handyman that could fix and build just about anything. Dean worked at Crowley Foods in Lafargeville from 1977-1997 retiring as a Supervisor. Most of all he was a kind and generous man that freely gave of his time and resources. He fought a hard battle with the after effects of a stroke, which prevented him from being able to do many of the things he was passionate about in the last few years of his life.
Dean leaves behind a daughter, Christina Graves and son in law Tom Graves (Adams) , a son Britt Wallace (Adams Center), and daughter April Chester (Nevada), 3 grandchildren Ryan Graves and his wife Kelly (Scottsville, NY) Faith Steinmetz (Watertown) and Jessiah Welbourn (Adams).
His wife Sylvia and his mother Minnie Russell predeceased him.
There will be no services.
