Phillip Parker Obituary

Phillip Wayne Parker passed away at the age of 79, peacefully at home with his family close by on Saturday May 8, 2021.

He was born May 8, 1942 in Syracuse, NY to Eugene C. Parker and Phyllis M. Parker (Steele). He was raised in Richland, NY and  graduated from Pulaski High School in 1961.

On March 20, 1971; he married the love of his life Frances A. Parker (Scurti). They made their home in Orwell, NY where they raised their  family.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Fran; their three children: Brandy (Milferd) Potter of Orwell, NY; Christine (Scott) Hanley of Richland, NY; and Jeremy (Melissa) Parker of East Syracuse, NY. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda LaVanchard of Pulaski, NY. He also left behind nine grandchildren: Joshua, Desiree, Ashton (Jodi), Zachary (Hannah), Abigail (Will), Nicholas, Gabriel, Raelynn, and Nolan; two great grandsons, Alex and Edmund, who is on the way. He also leaves behind and will be greatly miss by several nieces, nephews, and extended family, both blood related and not.

Phil retired in 1993 from General Motors in Syracuse after 29 years of service. He then went on to drive and deliver cars for FX Caprara’s in Pulaski, then to Burritt Motors in Oswego until he finally retired in May of 2016.

He loved to be on the road. If you were traveling anywhere on the East Coast he could tell you how to get there, where to eat, where not to eat, and how to get home.

He loved computers, photography, and hunting. Phil built model trains and devoted much of his time to his self-built fish pond. However, above all else, he loved his family and knew they loved him.

A private ceremony will be held at the family’s convenience.
