Paul Eugene Hemingway, 57, of Lacona, New York, passed peacefully on May 30, 2022 after a long heroic battle with cancer. He was born on April 12, 1965 to Jean Greeney and Robert Eugene Hemingway in Syracuse NY. He attended Mexico Academy and Central School from 1977-83 where he learned drafting and design technology at the age of 18. As a young man he learned carpentry and mechanics. He contributed his natural and learned talents to a number of manufacturing plants in the area as certified New York State Industrial Maintenance and Electrician Journeyman. After a long and dedicated career he retired from Giovanni Foods as a maintenance supervisor. His hobbies included restoring classic cars, camping and hunting; in his younger years he also enjoyed fishing and playing the piano as well as the guitar. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Julie Hemingway and beloved young son Corey Hemingway, as well as his four step children Ken Parkhurst, Victoria, Kristina and Lawrence Metcalf;his daughters from a previous marriage, Jessica and Paula Hemingway and 8 grandchildren, as well as his siblings Robert, Donnie, Dave, Marc and Lisa and many nieces and nephews. He rests in peace with his mother Jean, father „Bob“, brother Shawn and sister-in-law Beya.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 3, 5-7 pm at Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek.
