Patricia Fregoe Obituary

Patricia A. Fregoe, 85, of 196 Norton Road, Sandy Creek, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 16, 2023, after a brief illness. Born to the late Bertha and Karl Kaljeskie on October 22, 1938, she grew up in the Liverpool/Syracuse area. She married Richard W. Fregoe on April 19, 1967. The family moved to Norton Road in 1970. She was the proprietor and instructor at Fregoe’s Fascinations Ceramics in the 1970’s and 1980’s. After that, she created unique hand-made black ash basket from 1988 to the present. Known as the “Basket Lady” by many, she crafted some 1500+ baskets during that time.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Richard W. Fregoe, sons Richard (who died at birth) and Fredrick, daughters Joy Lisa and Janelle, sister Alberta Ferry, and brother Robert Kaljeskie.

She is survived by daughters Cindy Fregoe of Zephyrhills, FL, Lorrie Dixon of Syracuse, and Kelly Sinden of Caledonia, sons Richard S. Fregoe of Zephyrhills, FL, and Jon (Lisa) Derochie of Rotonda West, FL, brother William C. (Josie) Kaljeskie of North Syracuse, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

Beloved wife, mother, and Nana, Pat enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and baking for family and friends, working at the Friendship Shop, and acquiring a variety of antiques and collectibles. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved and whose lives she touched.

A spring interment will be planned and announced when finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in name to the Friendship Shop and/or NOCA.
