He was predeceased by his dad; Neal D. Smith; his nephew; James; his brother-in-law; Randy; his aunts and uncle; Blanche, Shirley and Billy; and his maternal grandmother.
Neal was born in Springfield, MA on August 5, 1963 to Neal Smith and Carol Tirrell. After high school, he worked as an auto salesman prior to becoming an automotive mechanic, which he loved doing every day. He loved to go fishing in the Salmon River. During hunting season, he would go to upstate New York and hunt with his friends; Scott McCarthy, Scott Kozak and Jeff Fish. Neal was a hardworking, honest and blunt guy who loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. He made sure that everyone was taken care of before himself and would drop anything to help anyone. Neal will be deeply missed by his children, family and friends.
There will be a celebration of life held later this year and the family will share the details as they come together. The family wants to thank Chelsy Raum, Bill Vandermark, Hospice and the people who came together to help during this tough time.
