Madeline was born July 30, 1937, in Woodhull, New York. She was the eldest of seven children born to Kendal M. and Maggie L. (Stickles) Smith. Madeline attended Woodhull schools. For many years, Madeline was employed at the Redwood Motel in Pulaski. She was a longtime member of the Sandy Creek Grange and took great pleasure in baking and cooking; generously sharing her talents with the community. Over the years, she was especially known for the many pies she made for the Sandy Creek Fair. Madeline will be fondly remembered for her wit and her dry sense of humor.

She is survived by siblings: Joann (James) Holden; Duane (Jean) Smith; Elaine Lampe; Diane Greisch; and Robert Smith; as well as four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
