Laurie Hunter Obituary

Laurie Cole Hunter passed away peacefully on Saturday November 9 th after a battle with cancer. Laurie Cole Hunter, born on September 14, 1960, to George and Doris Cole, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Raised in Parish, NY, Laurie graduated from APW High School in 1978 and pursued her passion for caring for others by completing nursing school in 1994. Laurie spent most of her adult life in Pulaski, NY, where she and her husband, Jeff, raised their two sons, Jericho and Morgan. The couple met in 1979 and quickly realized their bond was special. Their 45-year marriage was a testament to their deep love and commitment, enduring all the ups and downs of life together. Before starting her nursing career, Laurie dedicated herself to being a loving homemaker and stay-at- home mom, a role she cherished deeply. As a nurse, she combined her compassionate nature with a strong work ethic, touching the lives of many individuals through her caring and dedication. Laurie was a vibrant presence in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was not only a wife and mother but also a beloved daughter, Nana, aunt, and friend. Her strong personality and unwavering support were hallmarks of her character. Laurie had a passion for sports that began with cheerleading and softball, and later evolved into becoming the ultimate hockey mom, cheering on her boys and their teammates at every game. Family meant everything to Laurie. She cherished the simple moments spent together, from Sunday dinners to conversations over coffee at the dining room table, and she loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. In her spare time, Laurie enjoyed gardening and embracing the beauty of the outdoors. Laurie is survived by her loving husband, Jeff; her two sons, Jericho (Melissa) Hunter and Morgan (Amanda) Hunter; her grandchildren, Darren, Cheyenne, Hannah, Hayley, and Lily Hunter; a great- grandson, Colt Henry; and two great-granddaughters on the way. Brother, Larry Cole. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Doris Cole; her brother, George; and her sisters, Sandie, Kathy, and Dodie. Laurie's legacy of love, care, and dedication will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her. A Celebration of Laurie’s Life will be held November 30 th at the Sand Bar, 8431 State Route 3, Pulaski from 1:00-4:00 with a service beginning at 1:30.
