Kory H. Paro, Sr., 60, of Sandy Creek, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 23, 1964, in Gouverneur, NY, Kory was the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth Paro. He attended Sandy Creek High School and worked for many years as a mechanic at Watertown Spring and Alignment, until retiring due to disability. On April 19, 1986, Kory married his high school sweetheart, Laurie Salisbury. The couple shared a devoted and loving partnership for 45 years. From the age of 18, Kory found his greatest passion in demolition derby. He loved preparing his car for competition at the local fair, connecting with fellow enthusiasts, and forming lifelong friendships through the sport. Known for his generosity and candor, Kory was always ready to lend a hand or share his honest opinion. Kory is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie; two sons: Kory Jr. ("KJ") and his wife Aimee, and Evan and his wife Desiree; his parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Paro; his sister, Kammie Martin; his brother, Kermit Paro; ten grandchildren whom he adored; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Kevin Paro. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Sandy Creek Fairgrounds.
