Kelley L Witter

Kelley Linette Witter, age 58, 2723 State Rt 13, Altmar, NY, passed away Monday,  April 3, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, after a short admission.

                Kelley was born on February 20, 1965, daughter of Mary Witter, and lived most of her life in Tully, New York.  She is survived by her mother, Mary Witter, good friend Nezzi  Ponzo, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

                Kelley graduated from Tully Central School and attended several local colleges. Her interest in animals is reflected in her employment over the years as a Dog Groomer and a Professional Dog Handler and Dog Trainer, and as an employee in a Veterinarian Office and at a Pet Store.  She also worked as a Day Habilitation Aide for Disabled Persons Action Organization.

                Kelley raised and showed, over the years, English Sheep Dogs, Schipperkes, Pomeranians, and Chihuahuas.  She also judged at Dog Shows.  She participated in theater, particularly at the Salt City Theater in Syracuse, with many singing roles.  She was an avid quilter and combined the two interests to make a quilt for the Hudson Valley Chihuahua Club for a raffle.  Another interest was crafts; she was talented  in easily learning a new craft and making the results look good.  She faithfully volunteered to help in the Fish Fries of the Ellisburg Fire Department.

                A Celebration of Kelley’s Life will be held on May 13, 2023, at 2;00 at the Ellisburg Fire Departmen, Ellisburg; come help us celebrate.  Donations in remembrance of Kelley can be given to the United Friends of Homeless Animals, 432 Centerville Rd, Richville 13144 or to the Ellisburg Fire Department Auxiliary, PO Box 74, Ellisburg 13636.
