Judith E (Greene) Shampine

Judith “Judy” Shampine, 79, died Friday, July 5, 2019 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY. She was born March 26, 1940 in Carthage to the late Harry and Verna Greene.

Judy married Clarence Shampine on June 28, 1958. She was a full-time homemaker, raising their 3 daughters, until the couple purchased the Carthage Book and Cigar Store in 1978. Clarence predeceased her in 1995. For the past 5 years Judy, her companion Don Burnett, and their beloved dog Daisy May have spent winters in Florida visiting Judy’s brother Don Greene (recently passed) and his wife Mary Greene.

Judy is survived by her daughter Vickie O’Connell; her daughter Sandy Hadley and her husband Kevin Hadley; her daughter Joan Flanders and her husband Rob Flanders; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and her long-time companion, Don Burnett.

A Celebration of Judy’s life will be held on August 4, 2019, 1pm – 4pm, at the American Legion, 138 Sterling St., Watertown.
