Joy Annette Wade, 79, of Sandy Creek, NY, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 18, 1947, in Sandy Creek, NY, to Howard and Fannie (Stafford) White.


Joy worked as a cook at the Wigwam for many years and was famously known for her delicious Italian sausage soup. She enjoyed traveling with the “Golden Girls,” her sister Sharon and sister-in-law Donna. She could often be found crafting, tending to her flower gardens, cooking for her loved ones, or taking up new hobbies that piqued her interest. Joy also hosted many cherished family picnics, serving the renowned “Wade Chicken” alongside her husband. She was a comforting maternal figure well beyond her immediate family and loved her family dearly.


Joy was the cherished wife of the late Alden Brooks Wade, with whom she shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Wade. She is survived by her two daughters, Shelli Carlisle (Andy) and Tina Fults (Steve).


She was a beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Wade Nutting, and is survived by Ryan Vendetti, Steven Wade, Megan Nutting (Devin Coon), Alden Wade, Brooke Carlisle, and Zoie Carlisle. Joy was also the loving great-grandmother of Raven Peterson.


She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne White, Doug White, Phil White, Norman White, Jack White, and Reggie White. She is survived by her siblings, Sharon Cordell, Gary White (Betty), Terry White (Cindy), and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth White, as well as several nieces and nephews.


In accordance with Joy’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held at this time. The family is grieving privately and appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
