Joseph Kuss Obituary

Joseph Karl Kuss, 80, of Bridgeport, NY, passed away peacefully on November 13th 2023,
surrounded by family in the comfort of his home. Joseph (Joe) was born in Syracuse to Jacob J.
Kuss, Jr. and Jeanice (Jackstadt) Kuss. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joanne Kuss
and siblings, Patricia Ellis, Jeanice Tedesco and Jacob J. Kuss III.
Joe is survived by his four children Melissa (Thaddeus) Schug, of North Carolina, Michelle
Kuss- Cybula (Dan Cybula), of Washington, Mark (Mindy) Kuss of New York, and Meagan
Jackson (Timothy) of New York, nine grandchildren; Bailey Smith, Hayden and Wyatt Schug,
Abigail and Isabelle Cybula, Makena Kuss, and Adaline, Amelia and Eloise Jackson. He is
survived by two sisters, Elaine Cunningham and Kathleen Jackstadt, as well as many nieces &
nephews. Joe enjoyed a loving companionship with Clementine (Katie) Ranalli during his later
years.
Joe began his career as a chef at Drumlins Country Club. He later joined New Process Gear as a line engineer until his retirement in 2002. He spent several years serving as a volunteer
firefighter and rescue recovery diver for the Sandy Creek Fire Department. Joe dedicated over a
decade as a volunteer responder and ambulance driver for NOCA (Northern Oswego County
Ambulance) for many years. In his free time, Joe enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb
when it came to growing beautiful roses. Joe was fastidious when it came to a kept yard and
spotless house. He will be fondly remembered for his love of nature, tasteful wardrobe, sense of
humor and more often than not, his colorful language. In honor of Joe’s wishes, the family will
be hosting a private memorial. To share a story or tribute to Joe, please go to the Tribute wall on this website.
