John “Jack” Hooper, 83 of Pulaski, New York passed away on March 30th, 2021 at Betsy Ross Rehabilitation Center after battling dementia.
He was the son of the late Marion Hippensteel. Jack was born and raised in Pennsylvania until joining the Air Force. Jack held a variety of positions throughout his life including as a coal miner in Pennsylvania, a roofer, and a boiler mechanic for 20 years.
Because of his passion and love for fishing, he moved to Pulaski, New York and locals considered him to be one of the best at this sport. Jack’s love of fishing extended to his grandson Jeremy, with whom he loved to spend time on the water with. Also an avid hunter, Jack enjoyed hunting out west and deer hunting with his longtime friend Dennis. He was involved in numerous clubs such as the VFW and Road Dog Motorcycle Club.
Jack is survived by his loving companion of 28 years, Jean Powers; daughter, Vicki Hollowell and her husband Victor of Piketown, PA; son John Hooper of Los Angeles, CA; daughter Traci Suhr and her husband Dale of Piketown, PA; daughter Cathi Hooper-Rider and her husband Jerry of Grantville, PA; daughter Marci Osborne of Harrisburg, PA; brother Eugene Hooper; six grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
