Irene W Fuller, 94 of Sandy Creek passed on to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 22, 2023.
She was the daughter of Radcliffe and Bessie (Crandall) Wilder of Sandy Creek. She married William L
Fuller, son of James and Ruth(Donavan) Fuller of Lacona., on June 22, 1947. They had a wonderful family
of 5 children; Charles (Denise) of OK, Linda Waring of Watertown, Richard (Barbara) of Orwell, Kathyrn
(Albert) Buehler Lowville and Jane (Allan) Currier of WI. Her husband Bill and daughter Jane, son Charles,
and son-in-law Albert Buehler predeceased her. Survivors are the 3 children, 10 grand children and 6
great grand children and 1 great great grand child.
Irene was a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Sandy Creek United
Methodist Church and was church treasurer. She was also a member of the BPE Bowling League, WSCS
and UMW, Rebekah Lodge of Lacona and the Outlook Club. Irene worked at Roscoe Sargent’s law office
and at Blount-Parker Bathinette part time in 1946. She graduated from Sandy Creek Central School in
1946. After graduation she worked in the Lacona National Bank for 1 ½ years. She then worked at Blount
Lumber Company office for 21 years. After a forced retirement she volunteered for RSVP to drive senior
citizens to the Nutrition Site and to doctors appointments. She also volunteered at Ainsworth Memorial
library for 7 years. In 2003 she started volunteering at the Sandy Creek History Center with Charlene
Cole, Town Historian. She enjoyed gardening, needlework and reading.
A calling hour will be Thursday November 30 th from 1-2 at the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church
with a Memorial Service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be private at the Boylston Sandy Creek Cemetery..
Donations may be made in her honor to Sandy Creek United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Jefferson County.
