Helen L Haynes, 100 of Sandy Creek passed away Wednesday April 3, 2024 at Samaritan Summit Village where she had resided for the past 5 years. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 20th 1:00pm at Summerville Funeral Home. Helen was born November 11, 1923 in Haverhill, MA to Herbert and Helen (White) Maberry. She graduated from Haverhill High School. She married Charles W Haynes, he passed away in 2004. Helen had worked at Blount Lumber Company for many years . She was in the baby furniture plant and later in the aluminum and window shops. After Blount’s she became a beautition and had a shop in Richland. Helen had attended the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, was a member of the Pulaski VFW Ladies Auxilliary. Over the years Helen and her husband drove to every state including Alaska but not Hawaii only because they couldn’t drive there. She loved popcorn, singing and butterflies. Surviving is her children Norma (James) Ballou and Betti Lee Haynes, grandchildren Jamie and Tammy and three great grandchildren Alissa, Jessica and Samantha, nieces and nephews Scotty, Peter and Sandra. Donations may be made in her honor to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
