Ernest R Stevens

Ernest ‘Ernie’ Robert Stevens of Sandy Creek, NY passed away on February 14, 2026. Born on May 4, 1961 to Ernest ‘Topper’ Edwin Stevens and Carole Chisholm Stevens. Ernie grew up in Orwell, NY and was a graduate of Sandy Creek Central School.

On September 26, 1981, Ernie married Kelly Lynn Roberts and together they raised 3 daughters in Sandy Creek, NY.

Ernie loved his family and friends dearly, and loved spending time with them. He also loved music and playing the drums. Ernie played in several bands throughout his life, including Under Construction, Steve Woolson and Memory, and On the Edge. In the nicer weather, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife and close friends, fishing, golfing, and BBQing. During football season you would find him watching the Minnesota Vikings. For the last several years, Ernie worked at Sandy Creek Central School as a beloved bus driver.

Ernie is survived by his wife Kelly, daughters Randi (Justin), Alicia, and Sarah; three grandchildren Stephany (Tucker), Nancy, and William; sister Deborah, brother and sister-in-law Russell and Janet, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dana and Pat, brother- in-law Serge, and several nieces and nephews.

Ernie is pre-deceased by his parents, Topper and Carole Stevens, his brother Kevin Stevens, and sister Michelle Stevens Gionet.

Calling hours will be held at the Summerville Funeral Home 1997 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek on February 20, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A private graveside service will be held in the Spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek.

Donations in Ernie’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
