Elaine K. Fairchild, 75, of Evans Mills, formerly of Pulaski, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital in Syracuse.
She was born on October 2, 1949, the daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Benjamin. She graduated from Pulaski High School and at the age of 50 earned her associate’s degree from Jefferson Community College in Watertown.
On February 26, 1971 she married Calvin O. Fairchild. The couple were married for 53 years.
Mrs. Fairchild is survived by her husband Calvin, two children, Benny and Jamie Fairchild, of Waddington and April and Nicholas Lee, of Lafayette, Ind.; five grandchildren, Ali Fairchild, Apollos Lee, Calyca Lee, Azalya Lee and Evora Lee; two sisters, Penny and James Shutts, of Sandy Creek and Lois Benjamin of Green Cove Springs, Fla.,; a brother Garry and Robin Benjamin, of Mannsville; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She worked several jobs over the years, but it was her time volunteering for Pulaski Community Ministries of which she was most proud. Her dedication to the food pantry in her hometown once earned her “Citizen of the Year” honors.
Services are under the direction of the Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek. Calling hours will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, February 1 at the funeral home with the service to follow.
