David Haynes Obituary

David Henry Haynes a.k.a “Pops”, 81, of 29 Nelson Ave, Pulaski NY, passed away on October 14, 2023 on a fun day of hunting on his last deer watch at peace in the woods.

David was born on January 22, 1942 to Edna Mildred (Renz) and Paul Anthony Haynes at their family home in Mallory, NY . David attended Sandy Creek Central School during his high school years.

After graduating David started his working career as a local butcher in his father in laws grocery store in Lacona NY.  Once he moved on from there he went to work for Allied Chemical in Solvay, NY where he worked as a Top Relief Operator for 22 years until the plant shut down.  Upon leaving Allied Chemical David and his wife Glenda opened and operated the River Valley Inn in Mannsville, NY for 10 years and then sold the business to their son David Glen Haynes.  David then went on to work for Fulton Boiler Works in Pulaski, NY until his retirement.

In David's spare time he was a jack of all trades.  He was very talented in all of the various construction trades.  He really enjoyed building homes for family and the local community.  He spent many evenings in his workshop in the basement of his home working on craft projects with his beloved wife Glenda. David had a love for the woods and nature; he spent many days in the woods hunting with his sons.  He was a lifelong member of the Beach Creek Hunting Club.

David met Glenda and they became soul mates and went on to build an impressive legacy of love and dedication for each other and their kids. David and Glenda went on to have 6 children, Richard Lyn Haynes & Sandy, David Glen Haynes & Barbie, Terri Lee Haynes, Holli Jo (Haynes) Thomson & Eric, Ryan David Haynes & Sunshine, Kari Beth (Haynes) Elderbroom & John.

David was predeceased by his son Ricky and daughter Terry as well as his loving wife Glenda.  He was also predeceased by siblings Otto Haynes, Pauline Eisenger, Rosemary Misco, Evelyn Wood, Joyce Ives, Reba Brislin, Ruth Skellington, Lyger Haynes and Norma Kimball.  David is survived by his sons David and Ryan as well as his daughters Holli and Kari. He is also survived by his grandchildren Zachary Thomson, Kylan Thomson, Hayden Thomson, Kaylee Haynes, Eloise Haynes, Eben Haynes, Isabelle Haynes, Anthony Walrath, Karlie Hilton, Bailey Arbizzani, Madeline Rubley and 4 great grandchildren as well as his siblings Betty Waterbury, Beverly Wright, Linda Haynes and Virginia Wolffe.
