David William Dillabough, 73, of Pulaski (Daysville), NY passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 in the comfort of his home after a long courageous health battle.
David was born in Watertown, NY on June 18, 1952 to the late William & Alice (Walrath) Dillabough. He graduated from Sandy Creek Central School in 1971. As a young man he was employed at Sandy Island Beach. Throughout his lifetime, Sandy Island Beach held significant importance for him, serving as a frequent destination for friendly meetups, family gatherings, and his place for personal reflection.
His professional tenure included a dedicated role as a supervisor at Felix Schoeller, which was cut short after 27 years due to an early diagnosis of MS. He later attended OCC and Oswego State, where he earned a degree in graphic design. Following his academic achievements, he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. This enabled him to utilize his creative skills in designing logos, apparel, and promotional materials for various local establishments and fundraising initiatives. His artistic flair and inventive spirit were defining characteristics, and he took great pride in these aspects of his personality. Along with his personal comic strips, The Amazing Scooter DoggiDog and The New Adventures of Dilly-N-Beau.
On July 26, 2005 he married Sharon Krebs, whom he would spend the remainder of his life with. Together they embarked on many adventures, including wintering in the sunny, warmth of Pine Island, Florida. Where they created many lasting memories and friendships. In 2009 they started the Party in the Pasture; a yearly themed gathering of family & friends to share in food, laughs, music & just a good time. David's life was marked by his contagious enthusiasm and sense of humor, which were integral to his personality. He enjoyed playing his guitar. He was an old soul with a unique wisdom. He loved tinkering with things old and new; a fixer of everything, even if it didn't need fixing. He enjoyed spending time at home, whether it be mowing the lawns, in his gardens, sitting around the table with family and friends, on the golf cart putzing around or sitting by the creek with a cigar to pray & reminisce. His true love of his home though was his wife, Sharon and the boys, Dilly & Beau. David was a wonderful, loving father who will be dearly missed. His love & guidance will remain forever.
David was predeceased by his parents William and Alice Dillabough, brothers Robert and Jim Dillabough, first wife Elizabeth Dillabough, daughter Yvette Clark and his beloved dog Scooter.
David is survived by his devoted wife Sharon Krebs, a sister Christine Rector of Bloomsdale, MO, two sons John and David Dillabough, two daughters Phyllis and Renee Dillabough, step daughters Sara and Bethany Joss, 16 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his dogs Dilly and Beau.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 23 at Dave and Sharon's home (126 Krebs Rd., Pulaski) at noon. A picnic style event with a dish to pass. Bring a lawn chair, enjoy some music and a happy memory of Dave! That is what he would truly want, to see us all together celebrating his life & our love for him.
