Charles M Gadway, Jr.

Charles M. “Sonny” Gadway Jr., 75, of Pierrepont Manor, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born on May 23, 1950, in Saranac Lake, NY, to Charles M. and Anna (McKinstry) Gadway Sr. He attended local schools and later earned his GED. On June 25, 1968, he married the love of his life, Dolores Gareau, in Conway, SC. Sonny worked as the superintendent at Deerfield Apartments in Pulaski for 20 years before retiring.

A true jack of all trades, Sonny enjoyed woodworking, repairing vehicles, and crafting detailed dollhouses and miniature furniture. His creativity, skill, and willingness to help others were well known among family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; three children, Kimberly (Ray) Cornell, Michael Gadway, and Christopher Gadway; six grandchildren Aimee, Danielle, Zachary, Jordan, Hayden and Kyley; three great-grandchildren Morgan, Kayleigh and Avery; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Linda Wilmont.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charles name to All Creations Big and Small of Lacona or Hospice of Jefferson County.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
