Catherine (Hagan)Tuttle, 79 of Mannsville and formerly Inverness, Florida passed away October 8, 2023 at Hospice of Jefferson County.
She was born Catherine Marie Whelan in Richmond Hill, Queens, NYC on February 2, 1944 to James Francis Whelan and Helen Ryan Whelan.
Catherine graduated from St. Pius V Grade School in Richmond Hill. She attended Richmond Hill HS. She proudly completed her GED when she was almost 40 years old. Cathy married Samuel F Hagan Sr. of Mannsville, NY in June 1963, and they had 2 children. The marriage ended in divorce. She later married John Tuttle of Levittown, NY in 1994 and they were happily married until his death in 2017.
Cathy and her husband were members of AA for 39 yrs. They both dedicated their lives to working on their own sobriety, as well as helping many people with their recovery over the years. Cathy was committed to a life of recovery, unity, service, and spiritual growth, made a difference in the lives of those she helped, and she will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Hagan Sievers and Larry Sievers of Mannsville, her son Samuel F Hagan Jr. of Mannsville , as well as her grandchildren Thomas, Michael, Hannah, Jessica Sievers (Zack Foster) as well as two great granddaughters, Hazel and Raegan Foster. Cathy is also survived by her brother William Whelan, his wife JoAnn, Prescott, Arizona. as well as her niece Marie, spouse Danielle, and her nephew Matthew, and two great nephews, who all reside on Long Island.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Jefferson County Public Health and Hospice of Jefferson County as well and Connor Kellogg FNP. They would also like to say thank you to Cathy’s Florida friends, neighbors & recovery support group who helped care for her in many ways.
Burial and graveside service will be at a date to be determined in Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Jefferson County. Cathy would also have wanted anyone who needed help in their battle with addiction to reach out to www.aa.org (http://www.aa.org).
