Carol Ann Hutchinson Gareau, aged 71, of Pulaski, NY passed away April 7, 2025 at home surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Anyone who knew Carol knew how much she cherished her family and her peaceful life at home in their company. In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a public funeral or calling hours. Carol’s wish was for her family and loved ones to gather in celebration of her life. Details of a future gathering will be shared with family, friends, and loved ones.
Carol was born in Orwell N.Y. to Maturin and Leah (Redden) Hutchinson on Feb 2,1954 and attended Pulaski High School. Carol and her husband Carl opened “The White House Lodge” in Pulaski and enjoyed hosting fishermen and vacationers for many years. Carol particularly enjoyed arts and crafts, including painting, sewing, and quilting. Many from the area may remember the years Carol and Carl offered their handiwork at ‘Gareau’s Country Store.”
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Carl, her children Kelly (David) Patrick, Bobby (Annette) Gareau, Richard (Shelby) Gareau, and Tovi (Lyndon) Bliss, her sister Cathy (Gary) Roberts, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased in death by her parents and her brother Robert and sister Jean Foster.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Central New York & of the Finger Lakes as well as to Summerville Funeral Home for their grace and assistance.
