Pete (Bruce) Dyer, age 74 of Richland passed away at home on February 10, 2025.
Pete was born July 17,1950 in Cortland, NY to the late Raymond Dyer and Eilene Tilkins. He lived most of his life in Richland, NY and several years in Sarver, PA. Pete graduated Pulaski High School. Pete was drafted to the United States Army in 1971. He was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ and spent one and a half years in Germany. He was a life member of the Richland Fire Department with 50 plus years of active and honorary service.
Pete is survived by his companion Phyllis Pitcher; his daughters: Tonya Pitcher, Shawna Nutting and Danyelle (Eric) Sanderson; five grandchildren: Samantha Nutting, Mathew Nutting, Madison Kennedy, Emily Lamb, Alana Sanderson; great grandson Nash Nutting; siblings: Beverly Ackley and Daryl Dyer. Pete had many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.
Pete is predeceased by his parents; brother, Paul Dyer; step-father Joe Skotnicki Sr. and brother Joe Skotnicki Jr.
A Celebration of Life will take place on February 22, 2025 at 1pm at the Half-Shire Historical Society in Richland, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pete's memory to the Richland Fire Department and Half-Shire Historical Society in Richland.
