Bert E Mehlenbacher, Jr.

Bert E Mehlenbacher, Jr, 96 of Jacksonville Fl. and formerly of Sandy Creek, Webster and Rochester, NY, passed away Thursday January 21, 2021 in Jacksonville, Fl.

Bert was born November 26, 1924 in Oakland, NY to Bert and Mable (LaBour) Mehlenbacher, Sr. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943-1946. He married Alice Zahler in Buffalo in 1943, she passed in 2008.  Bert was a salesman for Blair Supply in Rochester then assisted in opening a branch in Watertown and then retiring in 1990. He was a Life Member of Cable Trail VFW # 8534 in Lacona, NY, DAV, Syracuse and was an avid golfer.  He loved Bluegrass Music and he was an avid Fiddler.

Bert is survived by two sons; Jerry, Franklin, VA, Tracy (Janis), San Antonio, TX, two daughters; Sharon Orbaker, Columbus, OH, Donna (Scott) Redick, Jacksonville, FL, a sister Helen Hopper, Farmington, NY, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Alice, two brothers and a sister.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring/summer at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek.
