Robert J Henderson

Robert J (Bob) Henderson 74, of Sandy Creek passed away Monday evening at VanDuyn Nursing Home in Syracuse.

Bob was born July 10, 1944 in Syracuse, NY to the late Ira and Ila (Patton) Henderson. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1964. After High School Bob worked at Alpha Cement Plant in Jamesville and then Schoeller Paper in Pulaski and finally Fulton Boiler Works retiring in 1994 after 26 years there.

Bob married Sandra Walton September 19, 1970 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Penn Yan, NY.

He was a member of the Steam Pageant Association and several gas engine clubs. He enjoyed restoring antique gas engines and pumps. Bob was an avid sportsman spending many weekends hunting and fishing.

Bob is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Nancy and her husband Pat Mullane, Sandy Creek, a sister Mary and her husband Art Shaffer, Jamesville, NY. He was predeceased by his brother Ira "Buster" Henderson.

Calling Hours will be Thursday August 23, 2018 from 4-7pm at Summerville Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Friday 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
