Nancy Elaine (Southard) Sanderson

Nancy E. Sanderson, 71 of Lacona, NY passed away Sunday February 11, 2018 after a long struggle with cancer and a lifelong battle with Crohns Disease.

Nancy was born January 1, 1947 to the late Carl and Mildred (Reeves) Southard. She was known for providing unconditional love and support to family and friends. She had a generous heart and embraced life and all it had to offer. Nancy lived each day with grace and style. Born of creative and crafty mind, she applied those virtues to all her life’s endeavors. Nancy had an eclectic work history including flower shops, owning and operating Garden Gate Bridals, The Settlement Bar in Maple View, raised horses, was a Master Gardener and was secretary at Sandy Creek United Methodist Church.

Nancy is survived by 4 children; Adam (Kim) Sanderson, Grant (Yvette) Sanderson, Keish (Julie) Sanderson, Kelly (Michael) Hennigan; a brother Carl Edward Southard, Conquest, NY; two step sons Rick (Patty) Sanderson of Washington and Scott (Vicky) Sanderson of Alaska; 5 grandchildren, Eric, Donna, Hanna, David and Sean; 10 Step Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ronald, a sister Marcia Jean Porter, Joyce Noreen Caven,.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday February 14, 2018 at the North Country Christian Church at 3pm A Celebration of Life will follow at 4pm at the church.
