Marie (Lindsey) Randall

Nellie Marie (Barker) Randall, 92, passed away on February 16, 2017 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY. She was born on October 12, 1925 to Raymond and Lora (Weed) Lindsey.

Marie grew up in Sandy Pond and graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1943.

Marie married Oren James Barker, Jr. on October 21, 1945. They were happily married for 37 years and raised eight children on the family farm in Boylston. She then married Vernon “Bill” V. Randall on June 15, 1991.  As the wife of a farmer, she was a wonderful and hardworking mother to her eight children and took pride in preparing delicious meals for her family.  She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting in her later years.

Marie was preceded in death by her husbands, Oren James Barker, Jr. who died on February 13, 1982, and her second husband, Vernon V. Randall who died on June 12, 2010.  In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Diana (Kevin) Barker, and her brothers and their wives Harwood (Mertle) Lindsey, Harmon (Annie) Lindsey, and Ray “Bud” (Barb) Lindsey.

Marie is survived by her children, Ronald O. Barker of Clayton, NY; Vickie A. (Warren) Chrisman of Lacona, NY; Kevin M. Barker of Hamlin, NY; Beverly J. (Jeff) Fonda of New Port Richey, FL; Sherry L. Moore of Greenville, TN; Janet M. (Russell) Stevens of Pulaski, NY;  David L. (Darlene) Barker of Boylston, NY; and Joanne N. (Donald) Erickson of Lorraine, NY; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Melva Jean (Monty) Hilliker of Pulaski, NY, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek in the spring.
