Lucy G (Gaff) Janis

Lucy Gaff Janis, 98, formerly of Sandy Creek, died March 16, 2018, at Samaritan Summit Village, Watertown. 

Lucy is survived by her children, Michael Janis, Marsha Rowe, Michele Bellinger, Mary Ellen Beebe, Wanda Zegers, Ann Futch, and daughter-in-law, Trudy Stacks.  Lucy’s husband, Mike, passed away in 1992. She was also predeceased by her son, LaDan Stacks, a sister, Eris Hulsey, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition, Lucy is survived by 28 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Samaritan Summit Village, many of whom became very dear to Lucy over the years, especially her roommate, Chris Hill and also to Hospice of Jefferson County.  Lucy was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will take place later this spring in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Summerville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
