Grace E. Rogers, daughter of the late Charles and Edna Beck died at her home in Pulaski, New York on Sunday, January 19, 2020 surrounded by her family. Grace attended Lindenhurst High School where she was the drum majorette. She graduated from Cortland State Teachers College in 1954 where she met her husband, Jack Rogers. Grace also attended Syracuse University, and C.W. Post College in Westbury, New York.
Grace taught elementary school for 37 years, primarily at Greene Avenue Elementary School and Sunrise Drive Elementary School in Sayville, New York, along with Syracuse, New York and Virginia.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Rogers, her son-in-law, Dennis Hlavac and her nephew, Wayne Beck. She is survived by her daughters: Karen Hlavac of Wallingford, Connecticut, Kim Widlund and her husband, Bruce of Pulaski, New York; her son, John Rogers and his wife Sarah of New York; and her brother, Robert Beck of Sandy Creek, New York. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Craig Hlavac (Becky) , Todd Hlavac, and Cheryl Hlavac-Feldmann (Brian) all of Connecticut; John Rogers and Kathryn Rogers of Florida, and her great- grandchildren: Caroline Hlavac, Gwyneth Hlavac, James Hlavac, and Sadie Feldmann of Connecticut, and her nephew and his wife, Keith (Susan) Beck and their children Claire and Rose Beck of Wylie, Texas.
Private cremation by Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek, New York with graveside burial to be held later in the Spring of 2020 at the Union Cemetery in Sandy Creek, New York.
