Omar L Davis

August 4, 1963 ~ April 16, 2017 (age 53) 53 Years Old

 

Omar L Davis (Oppie), age 53, of Pulaski passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Cape Cod Hospital of Hyannis, MA.  Mr. Davis was born August 4, 1963 in Watertown, NY. He is the son of Omar A and Julie (Parker) Davis.  Omar graduated from Pulaski academy in 1981. He married Carolyn Corcoran at their home in Pulaski in 2001. 

Omar served in the Army from 1983 to 1987 and in the reserves for 8 years. While in the service he was trained in CPR and CPR instruction, was a medic, an air traffic controller and expert marksman. He was employed by UA Local 73, Oswego, NY as a Pipefitter and was a Certified Apprentice Trainer for the Union.  He was active in the Pulaski American Legion Post 358 and had served as Commander and as Bingo Chairman in the past. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, camping, working on old cars and was active in the Bethel Community Center.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn (Corcoran) Davis; his father Omar A and mother Julie (Parker) Davis; 2 sisters Laurie (David) Cleveland; Kimberly Davis; a brother Keith Davis ;nephews Aaron and Adam Cleveland, Dylan and Austin Davis; great nephew Chester Wood; great niece Ella Cleveland and many other nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a brother Seymour in 2010.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017, 6pm at the Vorea Community Church, 12 Waggoner Rd, Richland, NY with Rev Tom Howell officiating. Calling Hours will be at the church from 3-6pm prior to the service.

Donations may be made in his honor to the Pulaski American Legion Post 358.
