Lois Marie Robbins Potter passed away peacefully April 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 9th, 1940 to Ralph and Irene Mae Dudley Robbins of Lacona. She graduated as valedictorian from Sandy Creek Central School, where she played clarinet in the school band. She was a girl scout, and graduated from Oswego State University with a degree in education.

In 1960 she married Richard Potter of Orwell, they had their first of six children, Brenda, in 1962.In 1963 they purchased the farm that they still own to this day.

Lois loved her family, the family farm, all of her animals and her church the Orwell United Methodist Church. She taught elementary school for 10 years. She loved her students and often brought them home and treated them as her own.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas she would make her famous fudge and pies for holiday and Sunday family dinners. She enjoyed Friday night pizza night which has been a family tradition for over 40 years .

Lois was a kind and loving person who welcomed anyone and everyone into her home. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Lois worked side by side with her husband, Richard, on the farm for many years and the two were rarely ever apart. They recently celebrated 57 years of a loving happy marriage.

She is survived by her husband Richard, her mother Irene Robbins of Lacona, her sister, Judy (Larry) Stucky of Lacona, her brother, Leon (Jenny) Robbins of Lacona, her daughters Brenda (Nathan) Reynolds of Orwell, Nancy (Eric) Dana of Orwell , Shelley (Jon) Roser of Altmar; her sons Richard “Rick” (Maria) Potter of Phoenix, AZ and Milferd (Brandy) Potter of Orwell. She also had many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her daughter Elizabeth “Liz” Skellington, her father Ralph Robbins and her brother Floyd Robbins
