James L Halsey, Sr. 64, of Williamstown, passed away Monday October 30, 2017 at University Hospital in Syracuse.

James was born January 5, 1953 in Oswego, NY to Donald and Shirley (Blodgett) Halsey. He was a truck driver for many years, working for Larribee Wire and later retiring from NYS DOT in Mexico after 19 years there. He married Barbara Doud March 30, 1972. She died in 2014.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camp and woodworking.

Surviving are his mother Shirley, his companion Marianne Hirsh, two daughters Laurie (Rod) Hilton, Heidi Halsey (Brent Wilson), a son James (Jill)Halsey, sisters, Marion Martin, Cindy Gregory, Sue (Joe) Skotnicki, Patty Fox, a brother Rick Halsey, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Donald and wife Barbara.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday November 4, 2017, 3pm at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek. Rev Daniel Bradley officiating. Calling Hours will be from 12-3pm prior to the funeral.
