Daryl C Addington

Daryl C. Addington, 81 of Lacona, NY passed away at his home May 1, 2018 surrounded in love from his wife, daughter, and granddaughters.

Daryl was born May 19, 1936 in Utica, NY to Arthur and Helen (Johnson) Addington. He attended Nott Terrace High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 where he served until 1957. He then entered the NYS Police Academy and graduated in 1958. He worked across NY State and retired in 1978 as Zone Sergeant. He continued to work in various capacities and formed his own hydraulics company.

Daryl was a member of the Elks Club in Scotia, NY. He loved to read and enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and sharing the many memories he had with his family. He was truly a caring and inspirational man who took great care of his family and friends.

He married Donna Munger of Pulaski, NY in 1997. A previous marriage to Myrna Helliker ended in divorce.

Surviving are his wife Donna, 4 sons Kevin(Doreen), David(Debbie), Christopher(Ellen), Leon Muckey, a daughter Sonya Mason, sister in-laws Juana Addington, Almeda Grandjean, Alice LaCelle, Barb Munger, mother in law Dorothy Munger, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 2 sisters Shirley Lamothe, Dorothy Markis, a brother Arthur, and brother in-law Clayton Munger.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no services.
