Cleatus C Mase, 78 of Lacona passed away January 4, 2018 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Mr Mase was born March 7, 1939 in Lehighton, PA to Frank and Flossie (Wertman) Mase. He graduated from Lehighton High School in 1957. He served in the 165th MP National Guard and was mobilized during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Claetus married Sandra Nothstein 1961. He served 14 years as Fire Chief at Friedens Fire Co. and was the director at the Lehigh County Fire School.

He worked 30 years as a supervisor at Stanley Works, Allentown PA retiring and moving to Lacona in 1995.

He loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra; daughter Susan (Mase) Smith, Slatington, PA, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many nieces nephews and friends. He was predeceased by all of his siblings Claude (Carmela); Charles (Maime), Calvin (Helen), Clarence (Ada), Cora (Harold) Gable, Clyde (Rose), Curtis (Margaret).
